A charming Spanish colonial city with a UNESCO World Heritage designation, San Miguel de Allende is a truly magical place. Nestled in the central highlands of Mexico, it is a mecca for creative inspiration. Condé Nast Traveler dubbed San Miguel the #1 city in the world in 2013, and Travel & Leisure magazine named it the best city in the world to visit for 2017.  With its vibrant culture, ideal climate, beautifully preserved colonial architecture, laid back ambiance, thriving arts and artisanal food scene, it is a place many come to visit and decide to never leave.

We chose this as our base because beauty abounds in this town: colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, rich colors and textures, abundant nature, magnificent sunsets, magical light and, due to its World Heritage Site designation, no advertising or signage to clutter the visual landscape. There is a strong sense of community here with a diverse population; the locals mingling with people from all corners of the world. There is so much room to maneuver here, constantly inspired, constantly refreshed.

Much has been written lately singing the praises ofSan Miguel de Allende. Travel and Leisure wrote this piece which does a beautiful job of capturing the magic of SMA: http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/mexico-magico
